Go GREEN with Seventh Generation

I was so excited to be chosen by Mom Central Canada and Seventh Generation to test out amazing products from Seventh Generation.

My family tries to use as many green products as possible. We especially think its important to use green cleaning products since we have little ones that touch and are into everything.

I was really looking forward to testing out four products from Seventh Generation.

Chlorine Free Diapers

My favourite product from the bunch are the diapers. We do a mixture of cloth diapers and disposables in our home. I really valued that the Seventh Generation diapers are fragrance and latex-free.

You won’t find a white diaper with cartoon characters in the Seventh Generation diaper package. Seventh Generation chooses not to whiten the fluff pulp with chlorine in their diapers like other brands do. This means their diaper is more of a tan colour. I think this is great and I honestly feel better putting these diapers on my son.

I love how well they fit and how well they absorb. They are also priced quite competitively. I purchased my bag of 35 diapers on sale for $12.99.

All these factors made me completely re-evaluate which brand of diaper I use and has converted me to use only Seventh Generation diapers when my son wears disposables.

Natural All Purpose Cleaner

The All Purpose Cleaner has performed great. I love how easily it wipes off. I also love how it doesn’t leave any grime behind. This cleaner does not have any powerful scents to it.

Automatic Dish Detergent

I’ve been using this dish detergent for over two weeks now. It always leaves my dishes sparkling clean. This dish detergent does not use chlorine, phosphates or synthetic fragrances.

Laundry Detergent

I have been very pleased with how the Seventh Generation laundry detergent has performed. It has cleaned all our clothes extremely well. My son has severe eczema so we always do a second rinse with all our laundry. His eczema hasn’t seemed to be affected by this laundry detergent.

Overall all these products have performed extremely well. I would highly recommend all Seventh Generation products to family and friends.

I highly recommend you join the 7th Gen Nation program. It’s FREE to sign up and you’ll receive tons of coupons and Special Offers.

Disclosure: Seventh Generation provided samples for my review. However, all thoughts and opinions expressed are my own and no monetary compensation took place.

LeapFrog Baby Toys make exploring fun!

Have you checked out all the new baby toys from LeapFrog lately?

My family has been a big LeapFrog toy supporter for a long time. We purchased many LeapFrog toys for our daughter over four years ago and are now using them with our new baby.

Things we love about LeapFrog toys:

  • They are educational
  • They are sturdy
  • They come in bright colours
  • Most LeapFrog toys are available in both French and English
  • All toys have two volume levels, high and low.

We were so excited to receive some new LeapFrog products to test out and review.

My son received My Snuggly Pal Scout, a Cook and Play Potsy and an Alphabet Airlines toy to test out.

Right away I noticed how well these toys are made. The colours are vibrant, they are sturdy and all play great songs and games.

My Snuggly Pal Scout went straight to the crib. This little Scout is soft and cuddly. You can choose to time nature sounds or lullabies for your baby when you put him or her to sleep. This toy also has a soothing glowing moon that helps little ones transition to nap time or night time sleep. My 10 month old cuddles it while falling asleep and plays with it once he wakes up.

The Alphabet Airlines toy is an adorable plane that can zoom around the room. My son loves rolling it around and always claps along to the alphabet song. The toy also does a buzzing sound when it is flying. Something my son finds very funny. This toy is sturdy and the perfect size to bring along to grandma’s house.

The Cook and Play Potsy is our favourite toy. The Potsy comes with a spoon and five pieces of food (veggies and cheese). The Potsy sings and talks when you add food to it. It also teaches your child the difference between “on” and “off”, “open” and “close”. My son loves adding food to the Potsy. He’s always surprised and laughs when food is added to the Potsy. He also loves putting the food in his mouth.

I highly recommend all three of these baby toys from LeapFrog. They are original, fun and colourful. LeapFrog toys are very competitively priced. You can find them in many stores and online at LeapFrog.com.

The online store also has a sale on now until September 15, 2011. Save 15% off on select toys with promo code CAB2SCHOOL.

Thanks for entering the LeapFrog contest. This contest is now closed.

Congrats to Cassandra from Chattam, On! She won the LeapFrog baby toys.

Bobs and Lolo live at Uptown

We were super lucky to catch a great Bobs and Lolo show at Uptown last weekend.

My daughter is a BIG Bobs and Lolo fan. She was so excited to see her favourite singers live again.

The duet put on a great show mixing new and old tunes all of which had the kids dancing, jumping and swaying their arms.

My daughter was so excited when Bobs and Lolo sang her all time favourite – Raindrop Pop.

As a mom, I have to say the best part for me was to see Bobs and Lolo stay after the show and make time to meet every single child that attended the performance. It warmed my heart to see the dedication and attention these girls provided to every single child. They are really very special women.

If Bobs and Lolo are coming to your city do your kids AND yourself a favour and check them out!

You can also get their latest CD – Connecting the Dots at many kids stores and on their website: www.BobsandLolo.com.

First Thoughts: Bumbleride Flite Natural Edition

For a new mom, I don’t think there is any product more exciting than a new stroller. I mean, lets face it, moms and dads today love to be out and about with their new baby. A good stroller is essential!

I was so excited today to receive a gorgeous Bumbleride Flite stroller in Walnut.

As soon as I opened the box, felt the material, looked at the wheels (very important) and put it together, I knew this was going to be a great stroller.

The Bumbleride Flite is the baby in the Bumbleride family. It’s Bumbleride’s version of an umbrella stroller. It’s not too big, not too small. It only weighs 13lbs but can hold up to 50lbs.

The stroller was extremely easy to put together. I had it assembled in 15 minutes.

So far, I’m very impressed with the way it moves. The thick foam on the handles. The brakes, the footrest and canopy.

I cannot wait to really put this stroller to the test and tell you all about it.

Watch for my full review coming soon. The best part? I’ve teamed up with Bumbleride to give one away!!

More to come.
