Get Close with a Boba Carrier
I love baby wearing. I think its a wonderful way to snuggle up with your little one. Its a fast and easy way to carry your baby when doing a quick errand and using a carrier can be great exersise.
I had been using infant carriers for a while now but it was time for me to move to a carrier that was more suitable for my baby.
I was so delighted to try the Boba carrier with my little guy.
The Boba Carrier is an ergonomic soft carrier designed for babies and toddlers. It has two carrying positions. They are front carry and back carry positions. It has a hip belt that distributes your childs weight evenly. The shoulders on the carrier are very well padded and take the pressure off your shoulders. To secure the carrier you simply snap it into place behind your neck if using the front carry position or at chest level if using the back carry position.
I was impressed with my new Boba carrier from the minute I opened the envelope it came in. I loved the packaging it came in. I proceeded to open the box and LOVED the green swirl pattern of my new Organic Boba Carrier.
I quickly read through my instruction manual and put it to the test right away. My little guy loved it right away.
This carrier is extremely easy to use.
Front Carry:
The carrying position I use most is the front carry position. Its very easy to get my 10 month old in and out of this position. I also love the hood on the carrier. My son has fallen asleep a few times when in the carrier. The hood is great for when this happens. It holds his head forward when he’s snoozing away.
Back Carry:
I also love the back carry position. Since my son is still small I do need my husband to get him in position on my back. I am confident that once he is bigger and can stand I will only need to have him “piggy back” me for a moment and I’ll have him snapped in place in no time.
Foot Straps:
A feature I really like about the Boba Carrier is the foot straps. These little foot straps are easy to get in the right place and easy to get little feet into. My son loves using the foot straps. I like them because it allows me to make sure he hasn’t lost his shoes and assures me that he’s sitting properly in the carrier.
Overall this carrier is of excellent quality. It is easy to use, is extremely soft and is compact. I highly recommend you check out this carrier if you are in the market for one.
Promo Code:
Boba has been generous enough to offer my readers a 10% off Promo Code on your next Boba Carrier purchase. Use code BabyStuff10 on their website at checkout. Promo Code expires Dec 31, 2011.
The Great Sippy Cup Challenge: Are you up for it?
It’s almost time for my little guy to transition over to Sippy Cups! I’m very excited to have him be a little more independent and can’t wait to see how much he likes drinking with a sippy.
I remember when my daughter was his age and started using Sippy Cups. I bought all kinds and was often disappointed with some part of the sippy. That’s why I’ve decided to start a Sippy Cup Challenge. To try out a variety of Sippy Cups and let you know what I really think.
On the top of my list are:
- Born Free Training Cup
- Nalgene Sippy Cup
- The Safe Sippy
- The Nûby™ Grip-n-sip™ Cup
- Foogo Vacuum Insulated Soft Spout Sippy Cup
I’d love to know what Sippy Cups you most like using with your child. Post a comment here or on my FB page to let me know what your favourites are.
Now for the challenge. Which Sippy Cup doesn’t leak, is easiest to hold and easiest to CLEAN!
Lets see if the players above are ready for the challenge.
Mom’s the Word: Remixed – A must see
Last week I was lucky enough to catch the show “Mom’s the Word: Remixed” at the Belfry Theatre in Victoria, BC.
I decided to take my mom. The show was about moms after all so I thought it was fitting.
I had never heard about the show before but as I stood in the lobby I could hear other guests chatting about how they had seen every single instalement of “Mom’s the Word”. You could feel the anticipation in the crowd when the show began.
Right off the bat I was hooked. These women were funny. They were fearless and brilliant!
The two hour show put us through some major ups and downs. There were funny stories, touching stories and scary stories (TEENAGERS!!). I could not believe how many emotions I felt while watching the five actresses on stage.
The musical numbers were by far the funniest for me. I found myself tapping my toes and would have happily joined the ladies on stage if they had asked!
I highly recommend you plan a night out with your mom, your girlfriends even your husbands and treat yourself to this show. Everyone can relate to the stories told by the amazing cast of “Moms the Word: Remixed“.

All-Terrain Bliss: 2011 Bumbleride Indie – Movement Edition
I’ve been a fan on Bumbleride strollers for a long time. I had a Rocket for my daughter in 2007 and was so impressed with the way this stroller maneuvered, how amazing the quality was and its clean and sleek design. I was also so impressed with the customer service at Bumbleride. I had a little issue with one of the wheels on the Rocket and they sent a replacement part immediately.
When Bumbleride came out with a newer version of the Rocket – the Indie, I just had to have it for my son.
I am now even more impressed with Bumbleride and this new stroller, mostly because of its new compact size.
The Movement Edition is one of the latest versions in the Indie line. Like all other Indie strollers it has well designed features. The main difference with the Movement Edition is its material. The material for the Movement Edition is a water-resistant sport fabric. The lining inside the canopy is also different from the other Indie strollers. It reflects heat while having a SPF 45 protection on it.
The Indie is a dream stroller. Here are a few points about why I love this stroller so much.
- It moves like nothing else I’ve ever tried.
- The size of the stroller is great.
- It folds down easily and pops up in a snap.
- The canopy on the Indie is extra large and has a peek-a-boo window.
- The three air filled tires make for a super smooth ride for mom and baby.
- The seat reclines to an almost flat position. (You don’t need to keep your newborn in a carseat if you don’t want to, they can lay flat right from the beginning.)
- The large cargo basket – easy to get stuff in and out.
Lets face it, a stroller is one of the biggest investments a new parent makes. Bumbleride has thought of everything. They have created an all-terrain stroller that’s not too big, that’s sleek and that is of very high quality. I can’t imagine anyone not loving this stroller.
If you are shopping for a new stroller I urge you to go give the Indie a test drive. You can find the Indie in stores across Canada and the US and on Bumbleride.com
